So You Like To Fish...

Playa Tambor, on the southern tip of the Nicoya Peninsula is a beautiful, distinctive, special place. Just enough off the beaten path to resist hordes of tourists, but easy enough to get to by various means of transportation including ferry and plane. Gorgeous, lush forest rolls down the hills to meet the soft sand only to be swept away by the warm ocean waters… it’s still possible to own a piece of this paradise for a lot less then you may have thought.

This area of Costa Rica is a bit of a hidden gem. Sure, there are resorts and attractions in the southern Nicoya Peninsula and tourists do venture to this area of the country. It just doesn’t get as busy as some other areas do.

However, when you talk about fishing, either just for fun or of a more serious nature, setting off from Playa Tambor will almost always guarantee you ‘big fish’ stories! This area isn’t littered with fishing villages for nothing…

Giant marlin, sailfish beyond numbers, the spectacular rooster fish, mahi mahi, more varieties of snapper then you may know exist and so many more! If you’re into fishing, Costa Rica will not disappoint. And if you’re not into fishing… well, you just may be after you visit! The exciting experience of spending half an hour reeling in a huge rooster fish may leave your arms aching, but will most certainly lure you back to the open waters of the Pacific.

Regardless of your level of passion for fishing, you’ll be satiated with the options in Playa Tambor. From large, chartered yacht-like fishing boats to sweet-talking a local fisherman to take you out on his much more modest boat, you’ll have no trouble getting out on the open water and reeling in something you might even be able to serve for dinner later!

Visit Playa Tambor on a Discovery Weekend, and schedule some fishing time into your stay! Mike and Judy with Pacific Blue would be more then happy to help you organize a fishing day-trip. That’s just a sampling of how you can customize your stay when you visit on a Discovery Weekend. You’ll be shown around the Pacific Blue development, stay in comfortable accommodations and eat whatever food suits your palate. There’s no sales pressure… it’s about giving you an experience you’ll enjoy and providing memories of your first trip to Playa Tambor!

We’re taught from an early age to accept that we can’t have everything we want… that we have to share or compromise. Thankfully, now that you’re an adult, and you’re considering a property purchase abroad, these ‘rules’ don’t apply.
All your ducks are in a row… you bought a corner lot, with spectacular ocean views in a private community.
We frequently refer to Costa Rica’s southern Nicoya Peninsula as a ‘hidden gem’. Naturally, those already owning and/or living in this tropical oasis would prefer it stays that way…
